At Maison Vellune, the material is where every bag begins.
It decides how a bag feels in your hand, how it holds its shape and how it changes over time.
That's why we want you to know exactly what each bag is made of before you buy it.
Below is a simple guide to the materials in our collection.
Genuine leather
Our genuine leather pieces are made from real animal hide.
Leather has a natural grain, so small variations in texture and tone are normal and make every bag slightly unique.
With use it softens and develops a gentle patina.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth, keep away from long exposure to water and direct heat, and store it in its dust bag when you're not using it.
Vegan leather
Our vegan leather is a synthetic material made to look and feel like smooth leather, with no animal products.
It has an even finish and colour, is lightweight and needs very little maintenance.
It's a good choice if you want a clean, polished look for everyday use.
Care: wipe with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry. Avoid sharp objects, solvents and prolonged direct sunlight.
Vegan suede
Our vegan suede is a soft, brushed synthetic fabric with the velvety look of suede, made without animal products.
It gives a warm, matte texture that suits autumn and winter outfits especially well.
Care: brush gently with a soft brush to lift the nap, blot spills straight away and avoid soaking it in water.
Canvas
Our canvas bags are made from a tightly woven, sturdy fabric.
Canvas is light, flexible and roomy, which makes it ideal for totes and larger everyday bags.
Care: spot clean with mild soap and cold water, then let it dry naturally. Do not machine wash.
Woven
Our woven bags are made by interlacing strips or cords into a textured pattern.
The weave gives the bag a light, relaxed character, perfect for warm days and holidays.
Care: keep it dry, avoid crushing it in tight spaces and stuff it with paper when stored to help it keep its shape.
